Tag: Compelled Affirmation
Compelled Affirmation occurs when a person is required to provide praise, admiration, reassurance, approval, or validation of another person’s preferred identity.
Unlike freely expressed appreciation, the affirmation is expected or enforced through relational pressure, authority, or consequences for withholding it.
Repeated compelled affirmation may become automatic and can reinforce the authority figure’s governing account while restricting authentic emotional expression.
