Corrosion is the gradual blurring of a harmful architecture with one’s own essence and self, so that imposed patterns, meanings, demands, or distortions become increasingly difficult to distinguish from one’s own perception, identity, agency, or inner life.

Within the Captivity Lens, corrosion names cumulative damage that develops over time as the architecture becomes internalized and harder to separate from the person who survived it.
