Tag: Dyadic Reinforcement
Dyadic Reinforcement occurs when two people repeatedly sustain one another’s authority, interpretations, identities, or relational demands in ways that strengthen a coercive arrangement.
One person’s visible enforcement may be reinforced by another’s praise, agreement, protected dependency, or refusal to recognize harm.
The resulting arrangement can restrict a third person’s agency, protection, differentiation, and access to independent recognition without requiring both members of the dyad to exercise identical forms of power.
