Tag: emotional neglect
Emotional Neglect occurs when a person’s emotional needs, distress, bids for connection, vulnerability, or need for comfort and attunement are repeatedly unmet, minimized, ignored, or treated as burdensome.
Within the Captivity Lens, emotional neglect can shape attachment, self-trust, emotional development, and the expectation that one’s needs will not be recognized or responded to.
