Tag: Faithful Witness

Faithful Witness describes witnessing in which conscience remains responsive to another person’s suffering, including when recognition challenges authority, belonging, or a preferred account.

A faithful witness does not merely hear or express concern. They remain willing to question an interpretation, examine power, acknowledge harm, and respond within their actual role and capacity. Loyalty does not make authority exempt from scrutiny.

Faithfulness does not require automatic agreement, complete certainty, flawless understanding, or rescue. It requires openness to correction and proportionate action rather than using uncertainty to justify indifference. When the witness contributes to harm, faithfulness includes repair.
