Tag: Forgiveness Without Access

Forgiveness Without Access describes the distinction between releasing vengeance or relinquishing a claim to personal retaliation and restoring relational access to a person who has caused harm.

Within the Captivity Lens, forgiveness does not require renewed proximity, trust, reconciliation, disclosure, contact, or vulnerability. A survivor may forgive while maintaining boundaries, distance, no contact, or other forms of self-protection.

Forgiveness becomes coercive when spiritual or relational authority uses it to demand access, erase consequence, bypass accountability, or return the survivor to conditions of harm.
