Tag: survivor credibility

Survivor Credibility is the degree to which a survivor’s testimony, perception, memory, interpretation, and account of harm are treated as worthy of serious consideration rather than automatically discounted by authority, diagnosis, demeanor, inconsistency, distress, or institutional narrative.

Within the Captivity Lens, credibility is not granted only when the survivor appears calm, linear, agreeable, or professionally legible.
